School Direct

PictureWelcome to the Wycombe and Marlow School Direct Partnership. School Direct is a programme that enables aspirant teachers to train full-time in schools.  For further details on School Direct please access the Teaching Agency’s website:  The Wycombe and Marlow School Direct Partnership is working with Oxon-Bucks training provider (Oxon-Bucks will receive all applications on behalf of the partnership). For more details on Oxon-Bucks please click here: Oxon-Bucks Partnership.  There are two types of trainee places available: salaried and non-salaried.  For teacher trainee entry in 2013 the Wycombe and Marlow Partnership will only be offering the salaried route.  The Partnership has  twenty-two salaried trainee places available for 2013-2014. The first application deadline has now passed and we are currently interviewing suitable applicants.  We are inviting a second round of applicants for Computer Science, English, Geography, History, Modern Foreign Languages and Physics, subjects where we have had fewer applications.  The deadline for the second round of  applications is Friday 15 February 2013. The application form is available via the Schools Direct website and applicants should indicate their preferred school and subject on this form.
There are strict application criteria for applicants to this programme, for example applicants must have three or more years’ career experience prior to commencement of the training programme; have GCSE A*-C passes in GCSE Mathematics and English; have a second class upper division degree (or better) in a relevant subject; and successfully complete the literacy and numeracy tests required by the Department of Education prior to 31 March 2013 (further details can be found on the School Direct website).
