Did you know that we let our facilities?
Borlase has a fantastic range of facilities for events, all kinds of performances, sports, evening classes and all types of meetings. Our facilities can be hired in the evenings, at weekends and during the school holidays. For enquiries, please complete the enquiry form, and we will get back to you as soon as possible. Overview of Facilities
Theatre
The Theatre at Sir William Borlase’s Grammar school offers a high quality venue for your event. It comprises a flexible performance and auditorium space with 216 seats on retractable tiered seating.
The venue is available to hire for commercial, professional, amateur and community performances, arts and educational organisations, conferences, meetings and similar events. It is available for hire at weekends and throughout the week during the school holidays. During term time, it is also available during weekdays from 6pm, for a minimum hire of 2 hours. Dance Studio
We have 2 professional dance studios equipped with ballet barres; ideal for all types of dance classes, Pilates/yoga and drama workshops.
Wethered Room
The Wethered Room is a formal meeting room in the Jacobean part of the school. It has a screen with Internet access, maximum capacity is 88 people.
Food Technology Room
The food technology room is ideal for teaching cookery courses, with 11 cookers and a complete set of utensils and equipment.
Sports Hall
We have a new state-of-the-art Sports Hall which was opened in 2021. It is a full-size Sports Hall with curved roof, changing rooms, a fully equipped fitness suite and classroom. We also have 3 netball courts, tennis courts and a grass football pitch.
Stuart Lever Room
A formal meeting room looking out over our cloisters. Can take up to 60 people for a meeting.
Drama Studio
A good-sized space situated in our cloisters ideal for drama and music rehearsals
