|The past few years have been an incredibly exciting time of development for the school. During this time we have seen some of the most important and far reaching changes in our long history. In recent years we have seen the construction of top quality facilities, including the Borlase Theatre, a Design and Technology centre, Dance and Drama studios, full disability access and the renovation of all of our Science labs. For a school with a near 400-year history, the school site feels remarkably modern.
|To match our new facilities we have also seen rapid developments in our curriculum, particularly relating to our specialist status in the Performing Arts. To add to our vibrant Drama, Dance and Music curriculum we also play host to our own “in house” performing arts company, which enables us to provide outstanding opportunities to the local community. For the past few years we have also been designated as the hub school for a local school sports partnership, which enables us to build on our already outstanding tradition in sports. The school has an enviable record of producing international athletes, as well as national championship teams in hockey and rowing

|Our curriculum is also marked by innovation and a vibrant commitment to academic excellence. We now operate a two year Key Stage 3, which allows subject leaders to support both acceleration and enrichment. Our Gifted and Talented programme is well established, and based on inclusive principles. We are also particularly proud of our enrichment programme, which has, in recent years, included a wide range of educational visits, expedition and exchanges to places as far afield as the Arctic Circle, Vietnam, South Africa and Hungary as well as more familiar destinations such as France, Germany and Spain for language exchanges. If you have a special interest then chances are we can provide opportunities to develop your talents to a very high level. You will see from our school vision statement that we aspire for excellence in all that we do!
