Sir William Borlase's Grammar School

Enrichment Days

In the Summer term we run two days of whole school enrichment activities. In July 2022 the programme will include Year 7 Dance and Literacy 'Voices of Windrush', Year 8 trip to Dorset to study the coasts in Geography and an outward bound day. Year 9 have an exciting day with 'Medical Mavericks' and also visit different places of worship. Year 10 will be working with a theatre company on 'Macbeth' and they have an RSE day delivered by 'The School of Sexuality Education'. The 'Amy Winehouse Foundation' will be working with Year 12 in addition to our own Borlase 'The Apprentice' competition. All of our days, whilst linked to our curriculum, go above and beyond the taught content in an engaging and informative way.

In lockdown we still ensured that enrichment days went ahead with our family oriented #dosomethingdifferentday which involved chef's from Tom Kerridge's kitchens teaching us how to cook to Chris Packham's 'Birdwatching Walk', yoga and dance sessions and author talks.
