Friday 10th May saw another successful Arts Dinner for the Senior Performing Arts Students and Staff. We were lucky with the weather and we were able to enjoy some sunshine on the Cloisters with food from the Little Urban Chef. Whilst we enjoyed Nachos and Burgers we listened to musical delights from Madriguys, and a fantastic rendition of Little Shop of Horrors from the girls in Year 12. All attending were suitably glamorously attired, with beautiful dresses and some fantastically striking suits.
We were then whisked into the theatre which had been transformed ready for the prestigious BOSCAR Awards Ceremony. The ceremony began with a hilarious mockumentary of ‘The Arts’ at Borlase. This ‘The Office’ style video was cleverly put together by our Arts Captains. During the ceremony, we were entertained by Chapel Choir, Gospel Choir, and Barbershop. We were also treated to a surprise flash mob performance of ‘Angels’ by Madriguys. We reminisced about the performances throughout the year from each department which were carefully put together by Mr. Will Davies, and the evening ended with a rousing rendition of ‘One Day More’ from the Leavers Medley. This was very fitting because, for a few of the Year 13’s, their first production was ‘Les Miserablés’ when they were in Year 7.
A massive congratulations to all of the nominees and well done to all of the winners, you have all excelled. A final thank you must go to our Arts Captains Maddie Smith and Sophie Yazdi-Davis who produced the event.
Well done girls!
