Our School

Sir William Borlase’s Grammar School is one of the highest achieving co-educational grammar schools in the country. Still located on the original site in Marlow where the school was founded in 1624, the buildings have developed behind our traditional cloisters and chapel to include up-to-date Science labs, Maths suite, a theatre, recording studio and there are exciting plans in development for the near future. Graded Outstanding by OFSTED in 2012 and achieving the Challenge Award by the National Association for Able Children in Education in 2014, the school is regularly placed towards the top of National League tables for A Level and GCSE.

Borlase understands it’s the learning that takes place outside of the classroom that fuels a students enthusiasm in the classroom, and is very active in offering a vast range of academic societies and subject related trips and events. Jack Broadbent, Head Boy 2017/18

Our specialist status for the Performing Arts is apparent through the vast range of outstanding opportunities at the school and our excellent achievements in Sport on a school, national and international level are testament to the determination and talent of our pupils and staff.

The school converted to Academy Status in 2011, operating as a company limited by guarantee, managed by a Board of Trustees and by its Governors.
