Sir William Borlase’s celebrates exceptional A Level results. Headmaster Dr Peter Holding says “We are very proud of these wonderful results, yet again this year. They represent the culmination of two years of hard work by our talented students and their teachers. We are still awaiting the final news of university places, but it does look as though the vast majority have secured their top choices. Amidst the general successes there were also some exceptional individual results, with 40 students gaining straight A grades or better, and five gaining all A*s. Head Boy, Jed Thorpe, gained five A8s in MatHS, Further Maths, Additional Further Maths, Chemistry and Physics. This was a very talented year group, who were a delight to work with, not only for their academic studies, but for all of the other aspects of school life. They included talented actors, musicians, sports men and women, for example, and some of these young people were juggling the demands of international sporting competition with academic studies. I am very proud of them.” The school’s headline figure for A*-B will be in excess of 76.3% and the overall pass rate was 99.3%.
