SUCCESS IN THE SELECTIVE SCHOOL EXPANSION FUND (SSEF)

I am delighted to share with you the news that we have been successful in our bid for expansion funding (SSEF). This will enable us to create an additional 30 places in Year 7 starting in September 2020, improving access to a grammar school for more local children regardless of socioeconomic background. We will be able to embark on an exciting programme of building to improve our facilities in readiness for the new intake, creating extra classroom spaces and a much needed Sports Hall to support the health and well-being of all our pupils and staff.

We have also been designated a Lead School for Modern Foreign Languages by the DfE and will be working alongside a number of other local schools, and with the Centre of Excellence at York University to inspire greater uptake of languages at GCSE.
