How many students are there at Borlase?

Sir William Borlase's Grammar School is an average sized secondary school - there are approximately 1,100 students in years 7-13.

How many students does the school take into Year 7?

September 2021 will be the second year in which we operate with an expanded intake into Year 7.  We will have 150 places for Year 7 in 2021.

Do all Year 7 students study a foreign language?

In Year 7, everyone does French and in Year 8 they are allocated either German or Spanish.  Everyone does a language for GCSE and many do two languages.   Full information about the school's Key Stage 3 curriculum is available in the Learning at Borlase section of the website.

How did the school cope in lockdown?

During the lockdown we ran a comprehensive programme of online lessons for all year groups.  More information can be found in the COVID-19 section of the website.
