Sir William Borlase's Grammar School

Autumn Concert 2019

The Autumn concert this year gave the audience a fantastic range of music that consistently wowed with the sheer enthusiasm of all of the performers. From the impressive large-scale coordination of Concert Band to the close-knit sensitivity of smaller ensembles like String Quartet, and the precise technicality of Symphony orchestra to the laid back, energetic performances of Jazz band and Gospel choir, there was no shortage of variety across styles. The junior and senior students both showed great professionalism in their approach, and seeing both Cantorum and Youth Voices singing in the same formation around the theatre was a special reminder of the exciting future of music in the school.

I just wanted to write to thank all staff and students involved in last nights concert- what a wonderful evening of music.

It never ceases to amaze me the ease with which the performers challenge such wide ranging and often challenging music. Equally heartwarming is the amount of enjoyment the students get from performing.

Our children are so fortunate to be at a school which offers such breadth and depth of opportunities.
