Strictly Come Dancing

Fabulous dance performances at our Annual Strictly Come Dancing event

The Mountfield Theatre transformed into the Strictly Ballroom for a night full of Jives, Waltzes and Cha Chas on Thursday 7th December. The Year 8s put on a spectacular display and four performances stood out: Syd and Olivia for the Cha Cha Cha, Holly and Jacob for the Waltz and, with the judges unable to choose one finalist, both Oscar and Poppy, and Colin and Shreya for the Jive. These four couples took the tough task of performing again and left the judges with an incredibly difficult decision to make. To keep the audience entertained whilst Mr Miall, Miss Pi, Mrs Hindley and Mr Goodall discussed, the Y12 A-Level cohort performed the festive-filled jazz number: ‘Frosty the Snowman’. The dancers leapt, kicked and pirouetted to finally set the Christmas spirit. Furthermore, earlier on in the show Ms Haldane, Mrs Lewington-Chislett and Mr Marchand delighted the audience with a ballroom-inspired piece, showing the Year 8s how it’s done! After heavy deliberation Syd and Olivia took home the glitter ball with their snake hips and stunning acrobatics. Strictly is a key part of every Borlasians experience, another year completed and we can’t wait to see what’s in store for next year.
