Equalities and Diversity at Borlase
Year 12 students raise profile of equality and diversity at Borlase
Equalities and Diversity at Borlase Update
Over the last few months our Year 12 students have been working hard on raising the profile of equality and diversity, especially in sixth form. Every two weeks the equalities groups meet for various activities and planning for a whole school roll out of their work. This will include: updated PSHE resources for the lower school, transition into the sixth form information, and a mentoring programme amongst others. We are also delighted to be working with speakers who are visiting Borlase as part of the awareness raising. These include Oxford Brookes welfare who have spoken to Year 12 on how to stay safe at university and how to report threatening or uncomfortable behaviour. On 17th May, author and activist Chris Hemmings is working with Year 12 on notions and presentations of masculinities and old Borlasian Louise Gibson (nee Halliwell) a GB cyclist and advocate for equalities in sport. Congratulations on your important work so far Year 12.
