The school is proud and delighted to be celebrating 400 years of education in Marlow, still on the original school site in West Street. Thank you to everyone who has shared in our wonderful celebrations so far in 2024.
Sir William Borlase founded his school on a strong philanthropic principle: the desire to enable local children to have access to an education which will prepare them to progress in their own lives and make a difference to their community. Thousands of Old Borlasians across the centuries built their own memories of their time here and thousands of Borlasians have left the school, going on to make a positive difference to the lives of others, following the Borlase maxim - Te Digna Sequere.
Below is a summarised History of the school. However, to celebrate our 400th Birthday, the President of the Old Borlasians’ Club, Dr Greg Lim, has written and edited a new history of the school, bringing together new and previous research.
The book - Borlase, The First 400 Years was published on December 5th 2023 and is a limited edition publication.
